Today I have been making Mincepies ready for Christmas, they are really easy to make.
Make your pastry
Sprinkle some flour onto your worksurface and rolling pin
Roll out the pastry to the required thickness, if you want the official line, remember to only ever roll in one direction, I am very good at this, I religiously roll all one way right until the end, when I get a bit bored and think it would be easier to do a different direction.
Spoon mincemeat into cases, don’t put too much in each otherwise they will overspill when they are cooking
I like to add small stars to mine, but they can be left with nothing on them or any shape you fancy
